Chennai (formerly known as Madras), is the capital of Tamil Nadu state and is India's fourth largest metropolitan city. It is spread over an area of 1180 Sq.Kms with a population of 7.6 million (2005). It has an Airport which is served by all Domestic and major international carriers.
